When Cali’s childhood dog, Weebo, was diagnosed with heartworms, Cali thought there was nothing that could be done. When she saw the extensive care options available and realized how quickly Weebo was treated and cured, she was blown away by the power of veterinary medicine! Coupled with her intense interest in science, Weebo’s recovery helped inspire Cali to work with animals as a career.

Cali grew up in Odessa, Texas and graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. After moving to Austin, Cali worked in a neighboring clinic before being referred to Austin Urban Vet Center by a former colleague. She’s especially fond of assisting in surgeries, and her favorite part of the job is returning a healed pet to their happy owner. Cali lives here in Austin with her boxer, Bella, who often goes by Derp thanks to her goofy personality. In her spare time, Cali likes reading all she can about science and animals.
