Our doggie playcare ($37 per day) is the perfect solution to your busy schedule. Upper Paw Pet Resort offers doggie daycare Monday through Friday. Playcare is a great way to keep your dogs entertained while you’re at work or just out and about for the day. Your pup will have a blast playing with other dogs and getting individual love, attention, and exercise from our team. Our playcare guests are always cared for according to their owner’s requests, and many of our guests have been coming for years!

Our trained staff supervises our play care at all times. Dogs are divided into two groups based on temperament, energy, and play style. These groups then rotate in and out of the playroom so everyone gets a great combination of play and rest. You’ll be taking home a happy and tired dog!

We take pride in our daycare service and want you to rest assured that your special friend is in good hands while under our care.

Drop off/Pick Up Times: Play care guests must arrive between 7 am - 9 am and picked up between 4 pm - 5:45 pm. Our playgroups run from 9 am - 12 noon and 2 pm - 3:30 pm.

Requirements:

  • Required to come out with other play care dogs and be in group, no solitary play
  • New dog evaluation (scheduled ahead of play care and completed) on file
  • All play care guests must be at least 4 months of age
  • Up to date on Bordetella (within the last 6 months), Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DAP, DAP+L, DA2PP, etc.); Puppy vaccines should be completed.
  • Dogs six months of age and older must be spayed or neutered to play with other pets
  • Dogs should be on a regular flea/tick preventative

Important Notes:

  • Clients of Austin Urban Vet Center who have not attended Upper Paw before still need to undergo an enrollment and evaluation process. If you are not already an established client with Upper Paw, this is required in order to accommodate any drop-offs or same-day boarding.
  • If during evaluation day or at any point during your pet's stay, it is determined that your dog may not thrive in a playgroup with other dogs or could potentially pose a challenge to other dogs, we won't be able to accommodate them for future play care or boarding sessions. We appreciate your understanding in ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all our furry friends.

If Dr. Morrissey isn’t your fur baby’s vet, she should be! Her passion, care, and attention to detail is unmatchable to anything I’ve ever experienced. My pup, Scout, chipped her tooth. So while traveling through Austin, she needed an extraction. The guys at Austin Urban Vet were very kind and patiently explained what was wrong with Scout and what needed to be done to keep her happy and healthy. They are very attentive and responsive even in these socially distanced, strange times, and we feel like she was well cared for. Amazing Veterinary Office with professional and courteous staff. Their entire building is very clean with trendy updated decor. In the past I have enjoyed being greeted by a very cute fur baby of one of the staff members who likes to hang out on the reception desk. I have never had a bad experience at Austin Urban and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Heidi. Our dog was very sick early this year out of nowhere. If our dog was in anyone but Dr. Heidi's care as well as the specialists she referred us to, I don't think our dog would've made it. Our dog is old with a lot of health concerns and a lot of spirit. I find comfort in knowing that with every check up, every health concern will be addressed and constantly monitored. Dr. Heidi always goes above and beyond to provide the best care and attention each and every visit. Anytime we have a question or concern she's there with an answer. I'm not sure how we managed to find such an amazing Vet, but I'm forever thankful we did! I'm happy to report that our dog is doing well and is still in the care of Dr. Heidi and Austin Urban staff. Just having moved from California during a pandemic (COVID-19) added many barriers to everyday life. I had no plans on getting a primary vet just yet in light of the current situation. Unfortunately my dog Oliver had other plans, and had an injury. I queried many vets, and Austin Urban Vet Center was by far the most efficient and responsive. They saw me within a couple days, and were so accommodating and took all the COVID precautions seriously which I appreciated. Dr. Heidi although I did not get to meet in person, spoke to me on the phone and updated me throughout the entire procedure. Can't thank you enough. I can say I found a great new vet in our new State. Also they gave Oliver a Certificate of Bravery and I just near lost it. Thank you!!!
